Location-based local networking

Circle is a location-based social network that uses GPS to connect with different users in your general area. You can connect Facebook to the app so you can see your friends and get connected to their friends through Circle.

Location and Connecting

The user interface of Circle is very simple. You have one tab for friends and one tab for people the app suggests that you should know.

Initial setup is easy; connecting to Facebook imports your friend list and their general locations. From this lists, Circle pulls relevant people in the same area that you can message or view their profile.

There isn't much else to the app and the majority of the focus is on the discovery of new people.

Almost too simple

The main menu of Circle is very easy to understand. The problem arises from the lack of information about how to access the settings. The solution is to tap on your username which will load options to change your profile picture and connect to additional networks like Google+ or display your Twitter stream.

Since Circle is about discovery, the lack of options makes sense but having a more clear Settings option would be appreciated.

The app is one of those that you install and kind of forget about it because there's no need for direct interaction with the app.

Excellent design and use

As a location and discovery app, Circle is excellent. It doesn't take much time to locate the device or load other users. It is built on very local networks so it's perfect to connect to others who live or work in your area.

It's unknown if more functions will be added to the app in the future, but Circle is an interesting app to try. It has limited use right now, but that could change.

Locally focused

Circle is an app built to find people around you rather than in far away places. It works well without any issues or crashes. The only problem is the transparency for access to settings, but it's a very interesting app with a lot of potential.
